Can you make biscuits in an air fryer?
There seems to be a long list of things you can make in an air fryer, and I recently found out that you can even air fry biscuits! For the majority of this recipe, I tested the most popular brand of refrigerated biscuits that many people grew up with and are widely available at grocery stores in the US, Pillsbury biscuits. Pillsbury biscuits come in different sizes and varieties. They generally come in two sizes: regular (about 2 ¼ inches wide) and Grands! (about 3 inches wide). For this recipe, I tested three different varieties of Pillsbury biscuits and two other brands:

How long to cook biscuits in an air fryer
After testing different sizes and brands of refrigerated biscuits, I found that the regular and Grands! (or 3 inch wide) sized biscuits differ in cooking time. The regular-sized biscuits (flaky or southern style) were cooked best at 330 °F for six to seven minutes and turned halfway for optimum crispiness. Since the Grands! biscuits were larger, they to cook at the same temperature and for a slightly longer period of eight to nine minutes to cook with turning halfway through. Turning the biscuits will give you golden brown biscuits and an extra-crisp crust that keeps its texture longer.
Tips for cooking air fryer biscuits
Here are some of my tips for cooking biscuits in an air fryer:
Pillsbury Grands! Biscuit results
Since Pillsbury Grands! biscuits are larger than the regular-sized biscuits, I recommend raising the temperature to 350 °F to get a nice golden brown coloring on top and an extra crispy texture. I previously tried to air fry these biscuits with a lower temperature (330 °F) and longer timing, but I preferred the crispiness of the higher temperature better. I also noticed that it stayed crispier for longer periods of time, whereas air frying them at 330 °F made biscuits that softened faster.
Other biscuit brand results
Along with the Pillsbury biscuits, I also tested other brands of refrigerated biscuits. We also tested biscuits from Trader Joe’s and Immaculate Baking Organic Flaky biscuits. These were the same size as the larger Pillsbury Grands! Biscuits and cooked at 330 °F for eight to nine minutes with turning halfway through the cooking process. I love serving Pillsbury Grands biscuits with a side of butter, jam, and some fresh berries. If you have leftover biscuits, make sure they’ve cooled down to room temperature and store them in an airtight container and place them in the fridge for up to three to four days.
